What needs to be cut?
Laser cutting is part of our drawing-based sheet and plate processing service. Bring the outline and openings you need, together with the finished part requirements. A flat profile can be the finished supply item, or the starting point for a folded, rolled or welded component.
Profiles, blanks and brackets
Discuss mounting plates, bracket blanks, shaped profiles and components for equipment fabrication. Identify critical holes, slots and mating edges on the drawing rather than relying only on a reference photograph.
Panels and enclosure parts
Discuss panels, covers and enclosure blanks with cut-outs. Where parts will be bent, include the finished drawing as well as any flat layout so the cutting and forming requirements can be considered together.
Specify the actual metal and grade for your enquiry, including mild steel or stainless steel where required. For aluminium, brass, copper or a particular finish, ask us to confirm suitability for the proposed part. The material, thickness and geometry are reviewed together before the scope is agreed.

Attach the available drawing and state its units and revision. Include a dimensioned view, quantity per part and any critical tolerances. Mention whether the drawing is final or still being developed.
Material and quantity
State metal type, grade, thickness, required finish and quantity. Tell us whether you want material included or are enquiring about processing material you will supply; acceptance and the supply basis will be confirmed.
Next operation and delivery
Flag any bending, rolling or welding required after cutting. Include your target date and collection or delivery requirement so the quotation covers the work you actually need.
Example enquiry: “Please quote for 40 bracket blanks to drawing revision B. Material: the grade and thickness marked on the drawing. Please show the scope for cut blanks and for cut-and-bent parts separately. Required by our stated target date.”
Cutting is only one stage of the job
A panel may need cutting and bending; a curved cover may need cutting and rolling; a housing may need cut parts joined into an assembly. Share the finished requirement at the start. We can discuss the combination of operations and clearly identify what is included, rather than quote a cut profile that still leaves essential work undefined.

Questions before sending your drawing
Can I request cutting only?
Yes. Identify the required stage of supply as cut profiles or blanks. Mention any additional edge, surface or dimensional requirements so they can be discussed explicitly.
What determines the quotation?
We need the material and thickness, part geometry, quantities and agreed scope. A plate outline and a panel with many openings are different enquiries even when their outside dimensions are similar. A drawing-based quotation is more useful than a generic price.
Can you help when the drawing is not complete?
Our in-house design and engineering support can be discussed for a product idea or an incomplete drawing. Send the available sketch, dimensions and intended use; development work and production work should be agreed separately.
