Sheet & Plate Rolling in Coimbatore

Cylindrical shells, cones and curved components made around your drawing. Sri Meenakshi Metals provides sheet and plate rolling in Kattoor, Coimbatore, with related cutting and welding available as part of an agreed fabrication scope.

Tell us the material, thickness, required shape and stage of completion. We will discuss whether you need a rolled piece, a welded shell or components for your own next manufacturing stage.

Choose the rolled shape you need

Cylinders and shells

Enquire about cylindrical sheet or plate sections. Specify the diameter and axial length, and state whether the diameter is internal or external. Make clear whether the seam is to remain open or welding is part of your requirement.

Cones and tapered sections

Send both end diameters and the required height for a conical component, together with a drawing of the finished shape. State any openings, joining requirements and the intended stage of supply.

Curved segments

For half-shells, curved covers or partial cylinders, show the radius or diameter and the required extent of the curve. A dimensioned section helps distinguish the finished part from a complete cylindrical shell.

These component types can form part of ducting, storage, equipment covers and other fabrication requirements. Their intended application must be specified; a rolled component is not automatically a certified finished vessel or system.

Prepare your rolling enquiry

Share the finished drawing rather than only the starting plate size. Include material type and grade, thickness, quantities, critical dimensions and the target date. For material you intend to supply, include its existing dimensions and condition before arranging delivery.

Define the geometry

Mark diameter or radius, component length or height, and any taper. State the measurement reference and tolerances. For a mating component, identify the surface or edge that must fit another part.

Define the seam and finish

Separate rolling-only requirements from tack-welded or fully joined requirements. Identify visible surfaces and any subsequent coating or assembly operation so the requested supply condition is clear.

Example enquiry: “Please quote for six cylindrical shells to the attached drawing. Material and thickness are specified. The stated diameter is the internal diameter. Please quote rolling separately from seam welding and confirm the supply condition.”

Need a rolled angle or structural section instead?

Sheet and plate rolling concerns a broad flat piece formed into a curve. A curved angle, flat or other section is a different enquiry: send the section cross-section, required orientation and radius. We also offer section and angle rolling, with suitability reviewed for the particular profile.

Questions about rolled components

Can you include cutting and welding?

Yes, those processes can be discussed alongside rolling. State whether you need a prepared blank, a rolled piece, a joined shell or a broader fabrication scope. The quotation should identify each included operation.

What information is needed for a cone?

Include the two end diameters, height, thickness, material and a finished drawing. Mark whether dimensions refer to the inside or outside, and identify any critical fit, opening or seam requirement.

Does rolling include pressure-vessel certification?

No such certification is implied by this service description. Any design standard, inspection, testing or certification requirement must be raised separately and explicitly agreed before an order is accepted.
